Replacing Your Air Conditioner
We offer Lennox and Trane equipment. The equipment is rated by SEER which stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. The higher the number, the more efficient the system is rated and should save you more on your energy bills. This rating is somewhat comparable to the miles per gallon rating on your vehicle. Most older systems will have a SEER rating of about 8 or 9. The SEER standard minimum is now 14.
If you have a system that is over 12 years old, chances are that it currently uses R22 refrigerant which is expensive to replace. The repairs on these systems can be very costly especially if you have a non-repairable leak. Considering replacing your unit may be the best cost-effective long-term option.
If the size of the system you are replacing is in question, we will gather data on your home as far as insulation, windows, square footage of each room, lifestyle, etc. We input that information into a load calculation program. It calculates the tonnage needed as well as correct duct sizes for each space to ensure efficiency and comfort in all areas of your home.

Heat Pumps will significantly lower your electric bills in the Winter. If your house is total electric and your bills are more in the Winter than in the Summer, it is likely that you do not have a Heat Pump or you have a Heat Pump that is not working properly.
